About Us
Honoring Frederick Douglass and African American Heritage
Our Mission
The Bailey-Groče Family Foundation is dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of Frederick Douglass and African American heritage in Talbot County, Maryland. Through educational programs, community events, and cultural celebrations, we work to ensure that the rich history of African Americans on the Eastern Shore is never forgotten.
Frederick Douglass was born into slavery in Talbot County in 1818. He escaped to freedom and became one of the most influential abolitionists, orators, and writers in American history. His legacy inspires our work today as we continue to fight for justice, equality, and education.
